Synopsis

Lippo is a complete loser. After 15 years of building up a betting shop with his boss, he suddenly gets fired. Dagmar works at a gas station and has no money. When she finds a gun in the trash, she plans a robbery. Karl is a car mechanic and sells water filters to make ends meet. Rizzo, a bearded loner, is unhappy about being different from the others… Four tragicomic characters and their quest for happiness. But after three car crashes and several mishaps, happiness seems like the last thing they can reach.

THOMAS WOSCHITZ

Thomas Woschitz, born in 1968, studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Rome, under Lina Wertmüller. Woschitz has always experimented with different formats. His work includes several short films and music videos as well as video installations. Moreover, he has directed two music films in cooperation with the Austrian band Naked Lunch: “Sperrstunde – Closing Time“, which was well received by the critics and the audiences, and “Universalove“, an anthology film about six unrelated love stories from around the world that was screened at various international festivals. Woschitz has received the Austrian Short Film Award and the prestigious Max Ophüls Film Prize.
